Creating the Dog Show of the 21st Century was not an accident. The producers, Herb Williams & Chase, always strive to create thrilling, exciting and surprising spectacles. Their current successful production, “BFF-LOL-WOW”, is touring across North America.
Herb Williams
33 years of having fun with dogs.
It was just over 40 years ago that Herb Williams got his first dog, a Chow Chow named Koko. It was the beginning of a beautiful relationship, not just with Koko but with hundreds of dogs that have performed in SUPERDOGS Shows over the past 33 years.
As President of the Metropolitan Kennel Club in Toronto, Herb initiated the first entertainment show with dogs at a regular Championship Dog Show. Herb knew he was on to something.
It wasn’t long before he created the first official SUPERDOGS Show, which made its debut at the Pacific National Exhibition in Vancouver in 1976. After 33 years, he is still going strong. Herb’s creative, artistic, musical and dramatic talents make every Super Dog Show something to remember.
Creating the Dog Show of the 21st Century was no accident but the inevitable result of a great collaboration. Herb’s association with co-producer Chase has made possible such thrilling, exciting and surprising spectacles as the “Wizard of Paws”, “Hollywoof”, “Star Woofs”, “The Bow Wows of Broadway”, “Woof Rock 'n Roll”, “Bling It On,” and their current successful production now on tour across North America, BFF-LOL-WOW.
Going to the gym and rollerblading are Herb’s favorite pastimes. Don’t be surprised to see a show with Herb as host on his blades. And one final note . . . don’t expect to see Herb wearing the same outfit twice. He loves shopping for those wild tuxedos (he has 27 of them at last count), and dazzling shirts in his favorite city, Savannah, Georgia.
Herb lives with his wife Joan in Toronto.
Chase
Chase saw his first SUPERDOGS show in 1990 and the experience truly fired his imagination. Over the next two decades he would use that imagination to entertain millions.
With a solid business, marketing, TV and advertising background, Chase quickly teamed up with Herb Williams. Their common goal was to make SuperDogs the best family-entertainment show in the world.
"I wanted to create a hybrid show with athletic and skilled dogs plus some of the finest theatrical performance elements. So we took the dogs and added a little Cirque de Soleil, a little Disney and a dash of Harlem Globetrotters."
Together in 1992, Chase and Herb launched the first theatrical SUPERDOGS production called "Hollywoof," It was lights, camera, and action -- the start of shows to come. SuperDogs has never looked back.
As co-owner and co-producer, Chase often co-hosts the show with Herb, playing many different roles, including the memorable Captain Woof, and does so with ease in four different languages: English, French, and Spanish and of course, the language most spoken at every SuperDog Show; Caninese.
Chase lives in Senneville, Quebec.
